Philly Phoodie: Guest Post - Lucky's Last Chance
If there were three things that I could eat for the rest of my life, they would be burgers, mac & cheese, and bacon. Not necessarily in that order. However, if you decided to throw all three of those delicious things on a bun and serve it up with an equally satisfying beer, I would be in heaven. Sweet, juicy, greasy, alcoholic heaven.Insert Lucky's Last Chance in Manayunk.

In a 'hood more known for watered-down specials gearing toward the college-age crowd, Lucky's is a craft beer stronghold, and the rest of the 'yunk is quite thankful for that. The alternating drafts and cans, heavy on local brews, is coupled with the spot's coveted alternating burger specials -- pair wisely.

Lucky's Last Chance: This is the place you've been saving your appetite for. Lucky's is a vintage-inspired bar with an impressive menu of craft beers and ciders, vintage cocktails (Aviation, anyone?) and some of the best burgers you'll ever shove in your mouth. Their PB & Bacon burger won the People's Choice award in the 2013 Philadelphia Burger Brawl. That's right. It's a burger with bacon, peanut butter and jelly. You have to try it to fully understand it.Their specials change daily and frequently feature $2 off a select burger, plus beer and cocktail specials. Their Facebook page is updated daily with the featured special. Lucky's makes a good late-night hangout too, with their upstairs open after 10 PM with more beer and drink specials that run until midnight.

While it's not technically in downtown Philly, we'd be remiss without mentioning Manayunk/Roxborough as the go-to neighborhood for postgrads. Goat's Beard, Lucky's Last Chance, and Rubb are all solid choices from a dining perspective. But like most recent grads, if we're living in the 'Yunk, we're spending most of our disposable cash on going out, and there's no shortage of bars for those looking to get a little twisted.
